Today the girls had a great day! Ashlyn seems to be getting better. She is not as edematus as she has been. Her oxygen needs have come down from 100% to 35% as of this evening. Her blood pressures are stable and her urine output is much better. Rachel's blood pressure has come up and the blood pressure medication has been decreased and her urine output is good. Haley is still doing well despite having an infection. Overall the past two days have been good for the girls, but today has been the best for all three of them together. It seems like in the past couple of weeks there hasn't been one day where all three have been well all together. We will continue to trust in the Lord that Ashlyn will completely over come this yeast pneumonia she has had. It really helps Thomas and I to feel better when our girls are doing better. We really worry about them when they get really sick as we love them so very much. These precious daughters of God are the world to us. They are a gift from God. Our other three precious little angles will never be forgotten. We are a family and families are forever. I am so grateful to know that we will always be a family. I love my family!
Today we took a cute picture of Rachel. Her nurse suggested that we put our wedding rings on her foot to get a perspective of how small she is.
I feel such joy that you are happy. I was exactly where you were one year ago... in the NICU... but I was much, much more scared. Thank the good Lord, our guy celebrated his first year today and is just as happy and healthy as can be.
ReplyDeleteI include your baby girls in all my prayers. I am so happy that Ashlyn is pulling through. What a little inspiration!
That photo is absolutely precious! I hope you are taking as many photos as you are allowed, as some day those little girls won't be so little anymore - and you'll forget just how tiny they were! :)
ReplyDeleteI have been following your story for quite some time now. Your little ones are such a blessing and an inspiration!
I love her cute little foot! Thanks for the picture. I always wanted to see pictures, even if only Rachel's foot. I'm so happy for both of you! All three are doing better and apparently the roller coaster ride is becoming less intense. I continue to be touched by your strong testimony, faith and love, regardless of what the situation is. Thank you for sharing that. All my love and prayers are with you and the precious little ones. Another day down, one less to go!
ReplyDeleteLove, Claudia
Rejoicing with you for the good days! And praying that God gives strength and health to all of you and your precious girls.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture! May I suggest a stuffed animal that you take a picture with each month? I am a nurse and have taken care of several kids born prior to 24wks and that is something that still amazes their parents. The animal being as big/or bigger than them, and then the progression:-)
Praying and will continue
thank you for sharing the picture. It puts it in perspective for us as to how small they actually are. I am so happy for you all this morning. way to go girls.
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful news. I am glad they are all doing well. That picture is just precious. They are very tiny and very strong. Thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteI knew they were tiny, but seeing that picture reallllly makes it clear just exactly HOW tiny! I'm so happy for your good news! And I'm glad they decided to give you a break and all get better at once! I hope and pray they will continue on this path and overcome all that lies before them. Thank you, as always, for sharing your sweet spririts and sweet babies with us. Girls-keep up the good work!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePraying for you always,
Christina McKinney

p.s. Tell Rachel she has an adorable foot :)
GREAT photo! And enjoy having a good day. I remember all too well having my quads in the NICU. What I had to do was to concentrate on the positives, no matter how small. And I sang the "Angel Lullaby" song from "My Turn on Earth" everyday to remind me that they had someone else looking out for them.
ReplyDeleteYou are in my continued prayers,
Michelle
Wow! I am SO happy to hear the news and that photo is so touching. Happy Hugs all around. :D

Yeah!!! What good news and what a beautiful little foot.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! I remember all too well our daughter's stay in the NICU. Such a scary time. She was born in Phoenix, and since there is a large church presence there, the hospital was used to priesthood holders being in the unit to give blessings. Our day nurse told me that all the nurses appreciated the blessings given to the babies because they had seen for themselves how much better those babies did. :)
ReplyDeleteThat picture is so cool! I can't believe how little they are! I pray for you and your girls! I am so glad they are doing better!
ReplyDeletekisses on those tiny toes! i've loved Rachel since you called her fiesty and now to see her teeny toes! talk about shock and awe! what a blessing in our lives that you share this miracle with us! thank you my dears. i blow kisses to the girls and hugs to you two! love, Erma
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that all three girls had a good day! We did the ring picture with our son Charlie. My husband put his wedding ring on Charlie's arm when he was first born and it went all the way up to his shoulder. Now the ring won't even fit over Charlie's hand :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Look at that picture. So hard to believe they are really that small! Praise God for the awesome report today!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! Congratulations on the day! I'm so glad to hear that things are going well. Y'all are handling it all so well and show such strength. I hope it continues to get better and that y'all will get to hold your precious little girls soon :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to hear that they are having a good day! I hope there continue to be LOTS of days like this for your beautiful little girls. What a neat idea for a picture. What a cute, tiny little foot! I sit here staring at my wedding ring and imagining a tiny baby's foot in it. I think right now my ring would go all the way to my baby's shoulder (or all the way up her leg!) and more, but luckily she hasn't been born yet. She's only at 16 weeks.
ReplyDeleteWiggle Worms and Tiny Feet made my day!!! Stay strong Girls!!!! You and Thomas continue to be in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteSweet little tiny foot!! I love that picture, thank you for sharing, That is so so precious!!

That photo is amazing... I wasn't even thinking that your girls were that little, but they definately are littel bitty things. I have been lurking and reading your blog since the babies were born. I am so happy for you. I pray daily for those precious little baby girls to get better and stronger so they can go home with their mommy and daddy. God Bless you!
ReplyDeleteI love the foot pic. And hurray for a good day with all three sweet babies. I hope that trend continues!
