I have made it through the 3rd week here in the hospital. I have to say it was a good week and it went by fast. Thank you to all who visited me this week. I know it helped pass the time for me and I enjoyed seeing everyone. I do feel cut off from everyone so again thank you for visiting.
Tonight two couples from our church came to visit with Thomas and I for a "Date night". We played the game Canasta and ate some yummy cheesecake and fruit. It was a good night and we all had fun. Best of all the girls won the game.
I found out after meeting my night nurse tonight that I had met her before. I met her at my work (Texas Children's Hospital - Gastroenterology clinic). Her daughter sees a doctor there and I happened to help them at their last appointment in April. Now the nurse is taking care of me. It's so interesting how peoples lives cross each others paths.

ReplyDeleteI am happy that things are going so well for you. Happy that the babies are growing well and developing as they should be. My town just had it's second set of quints delivered in less than 2 years.
I also know how you feel being stuck in the hospital for a long period of time. It's been almost 2 months since my last hospitalization, but before that I was in and out of the hospital for 14 months, while the Dr.'s tried to figure out what was wrong, tried medical treatments that didn't work, did several surgeries to try to fix or help the problems, but nothing has worked, and now I am facing more medical problems and there is nothing that can be done to help me, other than a totally drastic, total end of the road surgery. Thankfully though, I have found a great pain management clinic and am now on the strongest pain med there is, and I am doing as well as I can.
If it weren't for our Heavenly Father I wouldn't have made it through the past 15 months.
Sorry I spilled so much, but know that you are NOT alone when it comes to long hospital stays. You are in the best and safest place you can be.
I will continue praying for you, your family, and your babies.
I just found your blog through the Wilkinsons. Congratulations on your bundles of joy! I have 2 year old quadruplets and there is never a dull moment. I remember my stay in the hospital like it was yesturday. Try not to get discouraged and enjoy your rest now! Congrats again and our prayers are with you!

Another person from the Wilkinson's blog here. If you have never been on the receiving end of service you are going to be getting pumped up doses now. :-) It can be hard to accept sometimes, but you will need all the help you can get with so many babies at once. My husband & I are also LDS and conceived our boy/girl twins through a super ovulation cycle. We're also about to try again this November with the same game plan. I wish I was closer to offer you my photography services. I'm sure it will be one the things someone offers you, though. If not we travel a lot and it would be fun to come to Texas so let me know if no one offers you a free session. I'll pray for you guys & especially that you'll be able to carry those babies as long as possible!

Are you tired of Wilkinson blog followers that gather here? Hope not! I only had single births so I really admire those of you who do more than one at a time! I'm excited to ride the shirt tail of your journey and watch yet another awesome LDS family set good examples for other families of multiples who have multiple blessings and struggles. The gospel is a wonderful 'tool' isn't it? Thank you for letting us all 'watch and learn' as you learn and your family grows.
