The past week has been extremely busy. The girls have been having fun with grandma visiting and helping out. The girls are loving grandma being here. Grandma spoils them and holds them a lot. The girls have also had doctors appointments nearly everyday of the week. We feel like we keep the different specialists in business with how many times we will be in each of their offices probably the next year or so. It has been such a joy to have the girls in our home. They are growing fast and are now 7 months old.
Haley and Rachel
Haley has had a good week. She continues to grow like a weed. Haley weighs 10lbs 11oz. She is such a little chunk, I love to just kiss all over her chunky cheeks. She has had a doctors appointment everyday this week except Monday. She seems to be coming along slowly but surely. We have occupationally therapist coming to our home to work with her, as well as physical therapy. She is such a strong little girl. We just love and adore her so very much. One thing about Haley is she will always let you know what is on her mind.
Grandma holding Haley
Rachel also had a good week. She is growing as well. Her weight today at the pediatricians office was 11 lbs 11oz. Rachel loves to just sit in her bouncer and look around. Her lungs are continuing to heal. Her lungs probably will take years to completely recover. She is on medications (inhalers) to help her lungs heal. Rachel continues to be a sweet little girl. She is full of life and so alert. She loves to look in the mirror. When she sees herself she smiles. We are so glad that she is home with us.
Rachel
We truly love both our girls more than words can express. I am happy to be a stay at home mom. My new job at home is very busy, but very rewarding. It has been so much fun having them home with us. It has been pretty tiring as well, but it has been worth it all. We look forward to seeing them grow, learn and develop. They have already made progress since being at home.
I love the picture of Haley and Rachel together. Again, congratulations on having them at home with you.
ReplyDeleteThey are both just growing so fast and are just so cute. I love their cute little cheeks, they are beautiful girls. And lucky to have such wonderful, caring parents.

ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying motherhood and having your beautiful girls with you guys.
You guys are truly blessed.
Best wishes always,Lauren
I know it stinks that she needs them, but I love Haley's cute little glasses. And those chubby cheeks are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute, I love the pictures! It is very nice to see them together. They are very lucky to have the parents they do. With all the love and care they have, they will continue to develop very well. I too, look forward to see them grow, learn, and develop. Thank you for sharing. Love, Claudia
ReplyDeleteI'm SOOO happy for you! I think I might cry! :) Happy tears, happy tears. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new job. :) Being a mom to one child with special needs is exhausting and wonderful -- I imagine with two you get twice the exhaustion and twice the wonderful-ness. Blessings on you guys!
ReplyDeleteHave the babies been evaluated to determine where they are developmentally? From the pictures and the things the picture shows they are doing, it looks like about 3 months- which is fantastic considering what they have been through. Just wondering if E.I. has done that yet and what are they findings. I would be interesting to know considering the start into this world they had.
ReplyDeleteLucky Grandma!! lucky babies!! i am so grateful that they are doing well right now! it is such a blessing to have them home, and when all the dr appts are behind and you just get to go for well baby check-ups it will be a lot easier.. Thank our Lord that the doctors are there and have been so wonderful.
ReplyDeletethose little girls are precious beyond belief! i am so in love!!! my youngest granddaughter is two now and sooo much fun, but i fear she is the last and now i get to wait for more greats.. love it, just love it!

BEAUTIFUL GIFTS FROM GOD. ENJOY THEM. HOW ARE THEY SLEEPING AT NIGHT? ARE YOU GETTING ENOUGH REST? TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.
ReplyDeleteTRACY
Amanda, you can't spoil a baby, the more holding time they get, the better. I'm so happy for you that you have them home and can hold them all day long if you want to. Have you considered a sling type carrier? You'd have to check with your doctor to make sure that the girls would be safe, but you can hold them that way and still go about your day. Here's my fav for tiny babies: http://www.mobywrap.com/
ReplyDeleteI love the photos! They are both very sweet and I can tell they enjoy one another's company. Haley is cute even in those little glasses - but could you take a few pics of her without the glasses? I am thinking you can take them off for a few minutes, right? ;-) She is so pretty regardless, but I am curious as to what her eyes look like now! :-)
ReplyDeleteTake care and have fun being a SAHM!
They are beautiful! Your little girls are the same size (about) as Maya, so I know you have your hands full, LOL! They are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you for continuing to share the journey of your beautiful daughters. With prayers for their ongoing development from our little family in Australia.

I am so happy to see your little angels buckled up into the carseat, wearing their pink fuzzy clothes, laying on carpet, playing in swings and play gyms, cuddling with mom & dad on the couch and interacting with their world at HOME!! Wow. They are so precious...you have been through much and look where you are today! They are both so beautiful and I am grateful to be able to watch your family move forward and progress!! I get choked up just looking at these pictures. We are SO so happy for you all!

ReplyDeleteHi Amanda and Thomas:
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for months and bought a little gift for the girls. I tried to send it to you c/o their NICU but it came back to me. I don't want to seem like a weird stalker, so feel free to ignore me if you want, but if you're okay with it maybe you could email me your address? My email is brookedig@gmail.com. We had a few blog readers send our babies gifts and I thought it was so sweet that I wanted to do the same for your little girls since I've been following them for so long!
Oh How Beautiful. I have been following your journey before your children were born. The first thing I thought of after seeing the girls
ReplyDelete"You've come along way baby!" The progress is amazing. Thank you for letting us follow.
God Bless you
Tracy
