Brandon is 10 months old

Brandon turned 10 months old on the 14th.  He weighed 19 pounds.  He is making good progress physically.  He is rolling over much better and is working on sitting unassisted.  His physical therapist is also working on pre-crawling moves.  He is getting there.

He continues to make progress all around.  He is eating well though he still doesn't care for baby food except for baby cereals.  He is learning to pick up foods with the palmer grasp.  He started doing this around the beginning of October.  He is moving more toward talking by making more sounds.  He loves it when people talk to him.  He loves his sisters and watches them intently.

Brandon is having to be cathed only one time a day now.  The doctor looked at his output when we were cathing him twice a day and told us to go to once a day.  Not sure if he will continue with once a day or no cathing at all.  The doctor will let us know after he sees how he does with just once a day cathing.

Last month Brandon was found to have a high testosterone and phosphorus level.  Well we took him to an endocrinologist and she did more lab tests.  Its was found that his testosterone level had dropped and so the doctor wasn't concerned.  Brandon also saw a nephrologist regarding the high phosphorus level that was found at the Shriners hospial spina bifida clinic back in September.  More labs were done and his phosphorus level was normal.  It turned out that the machine at Shriners hospital was messed up and showing false results for phosphours levels.  Glad all was ok with those lab results.

Brandon is such a good baby.  He is so sweet and loving.  He gives the best hugs and best smiles!  He is a true miracle and gift from god. I can't imagine life without him.  Love my little boy so much!!

October is Spina Bifida awareness month and so I did a superman theme for his pictures because my Brandon is a superman (baby).  He is super all around.  He is a strong boy despite what he has had to go through and will continue to go through with his spina bifida.  He may live with spina bifida but it doesn't define him!

  3. He's adorable! I love the first one of him, showing off his scar in a superman shirt. My sister asked me to take one of my nephew's Spina Bifida scar when he was 5 months. It's amazing how many obstacles they can overcome.

  5. Congrats on him doing so well. Good news- I will be joining your church. Missionaries came over today, I'm doing homework, and will go to church tomorrow. I live on the opposite side of town as you and going to church in the clear lake area. I'm convinced this is right for me. I've been praying for answers. Thank you.

    2. Danielle This is Thomas Stansel. I am so happy to hear that you have decided to meet with the Missionaries. I grew up in League City, I use to attend the LDS Church building on Gunwhale in Clear Lake as well as the building in South Shore Harbor in League City. My wife and I would love to meet you and your beautiful family if that is something you would be up to? Our girls have been so blessed by all those who have followed them through our blog. We would love to be at your baptism if you would allow us to be. Many many memories for me in that Church building. Keep doing the things the Missionaries are inviting you to do and you will gain an answer to whether or not the Church is true and right for you. I know it has eternally blessed my life. I know that God is in the details of each and every one of us. He knows what is best for you just ask him. Thanks for sharing with us this awesome news. I am always down in the CL area visiting Doctors an the three Hospitals down in that area for work. We would love to meet you sometime.
