They are just dolls!

I hope you don't mind me asking questions, I'm just curious if the g-button is something that Rachel will have for the rest of her life, or is it something that can be removed eventually? Will her lungs eventually get stronger and better so that there isn't a risk of aspiration? Sorry, I've never known anyone else whose dealt with these things and I'm ignorant when it comes to such things.

Anyway, congrats on your little ones being home! The thought completely grossed me out at first, but it really is easy to do. We always keep a spare with us in his diaper bag, just in case! The girls are precious, as always!

MissyMissyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12010857013889278573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9145471442079731509.post-37092112586432151082010-03-01T17:50:39.651-06:002010-03-01T17:50:39.651-06:00So glad they're both home with you!So glad they're both home with you!Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02932007213063890925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9145471442079731509.post-57942774314685496282010-03-01T13:47:09.369-06:002010-03-01T13:47:09.369-06:00I love, love, love the picture of you with both th...I love, love, love the picture of you with both the girls!SpeasHillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06024209825346502037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9145471442079731509.post-87192300146239081542010-03-01T10:16:35.224-06:002010-03-01T10:16:35.224-06:00I've followed your blog for a long time and am...I've followed your blog for a long time and am happy to see both girls at home. I have a 4 yr old with a g-tube (she got hers at 4 months old) so I know all of the struggles with that. Some advice that was given to us and I'll pass on - learn to put them back in and change them at home. It's SOOO easy and saves a trip to the ER. If you ever have any g-tube questions feel free to ask. They look so happy at home, and the pictures show that. At home they appear to be more alert and developing well. I'm very happy they are finally there. Sleep every minute you can and slowly things will settle down. The many people who will be working with them will help the girls develop and reach their potential. I continue to send lots of love and prayers for all of you.
Love,
ClaudiaClaudiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06777505376889205171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9145471442079731509.post-90699266344201343722010-03-01T08:15:36.842-06:002010-03-01T08:15:36.842-06:00If there's anything we can do for you just giv...If there's anything we can do for you just give us a call. We were told that the hole can begin to close up within 20 minutes of it coming out. After several visits, we were taught how to put it back in which is a fairly easy procedure. My husband and I are old pro's at it now. One thing my husband does regularly is that he rotates the button around and checks to see if the bulb needs water (or air if that what you use) and can tell if the button seems loose. This has saved us many E.R. trips. Families that we know change the g-tube button monthly, but we change it when it falls out. I do not want to mess with it if it is working alright. Good luck with the g-tube and caring for the girls. I only had one and know it is alot of work. We did not have anyone to help us and we also had a 5 year old and a 10 year old who we did not want to change their routine or miss out on their daily activities. If you can get help, with you there supervising, take it.BRIDAL SHOWER SUNDAY JULY 20, 2008https://www.blogger.com/profile/09159514606725596178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9145471442079731509.post-48238340576078169932010-03-01T00:05:39.286-06:002010-03-01T00:05:39.286-06:00Amanda, my oldest had his days and nights confused...Amanda, my oldest had his days and nights confused. We tried and tried to keep him awake and all it did was make him miserable. When my twins were born we just let them figure it out. And they got their days and nights straight just as soon as he did. I don't believe that we can force the issue. If you keep nights boring, little light, no stimulation, and the days interesting, lots of activity, talking, some music, guests, etc, she will want to be awake for the fun. My youngest never seemed to have his messed up, I guess I just got lucky there. I co-slept with him though, that made a difference, but I can imagine that you couldn't do that with the girls with all the tubes, etc. Do you have them in your room with you at least? That might help. Regardless, she will get it eventually, hang in there.Boysmomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02484085135905423794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9145471442079731509.post-20731824812165951612010-02-28T23:06:24.386-06:002010-02-28T23:06:24.386-06:00So, so cute.
