Learning and growing

This week has been fairly quiet. We only had one appointment. Haley had a repeat ultrasound on her left arm to check to see if the partial clot had dissolved after she had been on the Lovenox shots for 6 weeks. We are so happy with the results. The clot is gone and Haley no longer needs the Lovenox shots! We think Haley is happy as well as she is starting to smile a little more everyday. She is also responding better to sound. She loves the radio in the car whenever we travel to appointments. I can't believe how fast time has flown by. Haley has been home from the NICU for over a month now.

Haley peacefully sleeping. Haley has been sleeping well at night.

Rachel is doing well. She is doing better everyday with following us and toys with her eyes. She loves to look at her self in her mirror and loves her toys. She smiles more and more each day. Rachel has now been home from the NICU for 3 weeks.

Rachel napping in her bouncy chair. Rachel also sleeps well at night.

The girls never cease to amaze me with the new little things they do each day. We love them being at home and watching them grow and learn. They seem to have adjusted well at home.

The girls look so cute holding on to their pacifiers which are taped to a rolled up cloth diaper. We learned this trick from the NICU. Both girls have learned to hold on to them. We don't have to chase pacifiers as much now.

  1. I'm so glad to hear they're sleeping well! And just one specialist appointment? What a treat! Now that my micropreemie twins are nearly 4 years old, we're down to about one specialist appointment per month. Keep up the great work, Stansels. It's a long road, but y'all have proven your ability to handle it.

  7. I'm so glad to see everyone doing well we've been praying for you all!
You should try the wubbanub pacifiers. Our babies love them and hold on to the animals or just their legs!

  8. The blanket taped to the paci is a good idea. Check out the wubba nubs. They were a lifesaver for my lil one. He was a micropreemie as well and took him a while to develop the motor skill to keep/put the paci in his mouth. But with the wubba nub, he could hold the frog which kept the whole thing in place.
